The CrossGL Surface Calculator provides additional functionality beyond the built-in calculator provided by Windows. The Windows calculator doesn't provide a fully scalable interface, which can come in handy when you want to reduce or increase the size of the calculator. When you resize the application, it doesn't lose any of the original clarity or quality of the icons. This is an important feature because it allows you to make the text later as small or large is necessary while still being able to view the numbers and functions clearly. The windows app does provide some basic calculator features. However, having a dedicated application to conduct calculations provides for a much more useful tool.

The calculator doesn't support a scientific functionality. Rather, it only does standard functions. These include addition, subtraction, both application, division and basic memory functions. The catcher also comes with a percentage button and an off switch. One of the nice features of this calculator, is that it looks like a regular calculator. When you use the calculator, it has a familiar interface and anybody should be able to use it with no training. While it doesn't have any advanced functionalities, it does provide the ability to calculate conversion. You can only do one conversion at a time, and you have to manually input the exchange rate, but for people living in a foreign country or they need to calculate exchange rates often, this can provide a useful function.

The calculator comes with the configuration menu that provide support for resizing rotating and closing the application. While the menu exists, it is a bit hidden and you need to move your mouse to one of the corners of the application to see the options. When you hover over the corner, the options will become immediately apparent and you can change the look of the calculator. The settings window provides several available options. You can opt to keep the cat hair on top of other windows at all times. You can use LCD digits to anyway the look of traditional desktop text later. One nice feature that you can separate thousands with commas so you can quickly see large numbers more clearly. The currency converter allows you to set the current TV you want to use. You can also align the decimal spaces and choose with four decimals. Another nice option is the ability to change the transparency level. You can change a transparency all the way up to 100 percent; this makes the application less intrusive on your work.
